Leigh-Anne's Dog, "Java," - Second Life …
Welcome to the World, Java!
Born Nov. 15, 1997
12-24-97 (Six weeks old; the day
I got her)…
A toy chocolate brown poodle named, Java.
Java is soooo adorable. She amazes me that she loves my lap
to sleep on. I love her eyes, nose, lips and her little rear
white feet. Boy, I can tell that she is a licker like Lover
Dolly used to be. Yesterday, when she was on my lap, she snuggled
underneath my long brown sweater. Her nose was so cold against
my stomach. Her coloring is beautiful. Her
fur is so rich looking. Right now, she is teething. She looks
funny when she eats her food because she puts her two paws
on the dish while she is eating so that her food dish won't
move. Java is so tiny. She weighs one pound. She fits on the
palm of my hand. Perfect size for my lap.

(Nine weeks old)…
Java is beginning to have a wonderful personality
and she's very active. She comes to me when I am on the floor
to play. We always like to play a game called "Let's Fight" or "Tug
of War." When she grabs my hands, she growls while she
is nibbling it. Also, she likes to pull the rag while she's
growling. This morning, she was nibbling my ears and licking
my face. Java has grown some... She is growing way too fast.
Her weight is one pound, seven ounces. Yesterday, she was so
cute... While she was eating her dry food, she brought a couple
of pieces to me so I could have some. It was so funny because
I remember that Lover Dolly used to do that for me. Java thinks
I'm her mommy. She comes to me before she eats her food. Last
week, she howled for the first time for attention which was
so funny, but she broke my heart when she did it.
01-09-98 (Twelve weeks old)…
WOW, Java has changed a lot just recently.
Last week, when I took her to the vet, she weighed two pounds,
six ounces. Today, she went to her training cage by herself
for the first time without someone's help. She also learned
to jump higher than she normally does. Java is learning quick.
She can fetch the ball or a rope then bring them to my lap
when I'm down on the floor. Now, she knows how to go through
her doggy doors whenever she gets tired of playing outside.
A couple of weeks ago, she was so funny...
When she was doing her business outside, she heard a really
loud noise like a backfire from a car. When she heard it, her
poo was still hanging out of her butt and she couldn't get
it out... Then, she started yelping while she was running around
in a circle... Also, Java was trying to rub her butt on the
grass. When that didn't work, she was trying to bite it off
and she couldn't reach it. It was so funny. Finally, my mom
cleaned her off with a paper towel. I was laughing so hard,
I lost my voice. When everything was over, Java climbed into
my lap submissive and exhausted. She gave me such a pensive
look, she broke my heart.
Last week, Java ate some nachos with pepper jack cheese for
the first time and she was crazy about it. In fact, she tried
taking it out of my mouth since I was sitting on the floor.
Two weeks ago, she had some McDonald's french fries and she
loved them. It's as if Lover Dolly's spirit is in Java's body.
Java is kind of bratty but I do love her very much.
Two weeks later, it was so funny. I have a screen saver called "Bad
Dog." When I turned the sound up and the dog's bark was
coming from the speakers, Java's ears perked up and she looked
around my office as if to say, "What the hell?!!!" I
had a good laugh.
Java has had her first haircut. Boy, she is so cute. When
she first came out from the groomer's, she looked exactly like
Lover Dolly did, but different coloring. Java has chestnut
hair with a few little white hairs on her eyebrows. She is
adorable.
03-07-1998 (Three months and three
weeks old)…
Java has grown about a pound and half since
the last time that I took her to the vet. She weighs three
pounds and six ounces. Java is funnier everyday, and more aggressive.
Hey... she likes oranges very much. I do not remember that
Lover Dolly liked oranges. Java loves to play ball. It's funny.
Everytime I throw or kick the ball, she brings it to me on
my lap when I'm on the floor. Sometimes, she acts like she
is playing basketball when she uses her paws to catch it and
she bounces it.
When I'm laying on the floor, Java jumps up on me and takes
a nap on my back. She feels soooo cozy and warm. Thank god,
she only weighs three pounds and six ounces. I'd be suffocated
if she weighed more than 20 lbs.
Strangest thing about her, sometimes, she hides herself in
corners or underneath the headboard of my bed and we cannot
get her. I had to use a bell to ring for her and she came out.
I guess she likes to hide when she gets so tired because she
feels safe. Probably because of her smallness. I hope she'll
get over it.
Oh, right now, she is afraid of heights. She digs my thighs
whenever she wants to get down from my lap. She doesn't know
how to jump or get down, but she tries her best. When she gets
excited, she jumps down without thinking. Just like a kid.
05-01-1998 (Five months)…
A month ago, when we went to the vet, she
weighed four pounds and eight ounces. I think she weighs about
five and a half pounds now.
Java finally learned how to jump up and down on couches, chairs,
etc. and even on my lap when I'm in my wheelchair. Java changed
a lot when we had a party for my mom's graduation. She was
jumping a lot that night because people were eating food. When
Cindy, my sister-in-law, was feeding me, Java gave a try of
jumping up on my lap. When she did it, we were shocked and
I was happy! Since then, she is now not afraid of jumping up
and down anymore. Now, I need to teach her not to jump up on
the couches. Geez, I was worrying for nothing! I think that
Eric's (my bro.) family helped Java to learn how to jump. Java
loves the kids. She had a great time with them.
Lately, Java has been chasing her tail for no reason. Everytime
she sees her tail at the corner of her eye, she goes after
it and she goes around in a circle. She is funny and smart.
09-09-1998 (Nine months)…
Java was a totally bad girl... She chewed
up one of my $2000 hearing aids. Ugh, I was so mad!!! I said
to myself, "I can't give her up because she is worth about
$5,000 from eating my expensive stuff like my 18 K pendant,
my hearing aid, etc.; and nobody wants her..." Just kidding!
She is a real character... Whenever she smells or tastes Mac
Donald's mustard, vinegar chips, martini, or anything smells
strong, she goes bonkers. Her reactions are almost like the "Three
Stoogies." She jumps and digs on the floor or on me when
she doesn't like something. When Java gets mad, she has to
grab one of her toys and tear it up while she is growling.
She is so funny! Java acts more like a human than a dog because
she shows her feelings.
11-15-1998 (One year)…
My
god time flies! My baby just turned one year old today!!! Java
doesn't act grown up. She always sits on my lap. Her favorite
snack is a marrowbone. Everytime I would ask her, "Do
you want a BONE?!," she tilts
her head and then she runs to the closet and runs back on my
lap. She gets excited!!!
This is it! I know that I will
enjoy Java for the rest of my life. Her love is the same as
I got from Lover Dolly. I recommend to people who have lost
their pet that they do a tribute for their previous pet and
then get a new pet. Getting a new pet doesn't mean you replace
your previous pet... It means you will enjoy the new pet as
much as you did your previous one. :-) |
